Boarding & Training

An Obedience Board & Train program is an excellent option for dog owners who want to improve their canine companion's obedience skills. During the program, your dog will stay with one of our boarding partners and receive personalized attention and balanced training from K9SF to help them master obedience commands (at a level based on the package you select). Our programs are tailored to your dog's individual learning style, your desired outcomes and will build on any prior experience they may have.

The one-week (7 days) program is highly focused and teaches your dog the basic commands such as "sit", "down", "come", "stay" and more, generally under low distractions (indoors). This is a great option if you are looking for quick results and can dedicate some time to continue working with your dog after the program ends.

Our three-week (21 days) program offers a unique combination of training and boarding, allowing your dog to receive the best of both worlds. Our objective is to teach your dog commands such as "sit," "down," "come," "stay" (longer duration), "heel" (higher distractions), "leave it"  (higher value) under high distractions (indoors and outdoors). The additional training time yields better results, making this program perfect for dogs who need some extra help in obedience or need more time to fully solidify commands.

If your dog is struggling with behavioral issues such as aggression, separation anxiety, or fearfulness, a Board & Train program may be the perfect solution. While boarded with one of our partner facilities, a K9SF trainer will conduct a behavioral assessment and evaluation to identify underlying causes for your dog's problematic behavior. They will pay close attention to body language, reactions and interactions with other dogs or humans to understand specific areas to address. Once identified, your trainer will help your dog develop new coping mechanisms to handle difficult situations and will provide guidance on how to reinforce positive behavior at home.

Our one-week (7 days) behavior modification program provides a quick solution to instill basic commands and address minor undesired behaviors. We train your dog to respond to commands in low distraction environments and situations while reducing issues such as excessive barking, not coming when called or begging for food.

The three-week (21 days) program provides an exceptional solution to establish obedience under high distractions and addresses more established or serious undesired behaviors. We train your dog to be able to respond to commands in all common environments and situations while addressing behaviors such as excessive barking, chewing on household items, jumping on people, leash pulling/reactivity, digging, not coming when called outside, aggression towards other dogs or people, destructive behavior, counter surfing, chasing animals or cars.
